Order of works for a full refurb
A refurbishment goes wrong when decoration starts before the wiring is finished, or when a kitchen arrives before the plaster is dry. The order is boring. It is also the job.
A typical sequence
- Protection, strip-out, and a look at what the walls were hiding.
- Structure: steels, lintels, and any extension frame.
- First fix: electrics, plumbing, and heating.
- Plaster and floors that need to go in before kitchens.
- Second fix, decoration, and a snagging list.
If an extension is part of the same job, its shell is in the early weeks so the refurbishment of the old rooms can follow without a second setup. We write the sequence into the quote so you can see it.
